Budding speleologists have a range of options for an underground adventure. The easiest to reach, although not for the faint hearted, are the small dark artificial caving tunnels constructed at a number of rock climbing centres - Activate by Hardrock in Heatherton, Bayside Rock Indoor Climbing in Carrum Downs and The Rock Adventure Centre in Geelong.
A less squeezy option is to take a guided tour to see the spectacular natural limestone formations at Gippsland's Buchan Caves (either the Royal Cave or Fairy Cave) in the east of the state or Princess Margaret Rose Cave in the west.
