There are a number of wonderful rose gardens in Melbourne and regional Victoria which are free to visit.
The jewel in the crown is the Victoria State Rose Garden which has over 5,000 roses covering about 6 acres. It was awarded the International Garden of Excellence by the World Federation Of Rose Societies, the first rose garden outside of Europe to receive this Award.
You can generally see roses in bloom from October to May with the best period from November to April.
