McCubbin Drive Playground, Taylors Lakes
In one word - interesting. In two words - very interesting. A super quirky playground which has what looks like an oversized pizza oven covered in climbing holds, a tunnel through the centre and a metal slide on one side.
There is a climbing area with rope nets leading up to a long, elevated enclosed tunnel which has a ladder at the end to get back to the ground (or do it in reverse). Also two swings, speak and listen system and horse springer.
For recreation there is a basketball half court, four square courts (2x), grassy area with soccer goals at each end, wooden circle which is slightly banked for little kids to practice velodrome bike riding (?) and a gravel bocce court with lights. Also an over the top shelter with table, seats, BBQs and weird chandelier hanging from the roof. There is a water tap, unshaded seats, lots of lights throughout the playground and artwork on the fence. Overall the playground is fun for older sporty kids and not really suited to younger kids.
