Galaxy Land Playground, Belleview Drive, Sunbury
We loved the old playground which was bursting with colour and a mass of slides. Maybe one day we will appreciate this upgrade a bit more, although the new version is excellent.
The highlight is a tower with steps leading up to a tunnel slide starting from the first and second levels. On the tower is a climbing wall, little ladders, disk on a vertical pole and monkey bars.
Next to the tower is an atom shaped rope climbing frame, two in-ground trampolines, big spinning disk, two standard swings, dual flying fox with disk seats and a dry creek bed with balance bridges made from logs and stumps.
In the middle is a big shelter with three tables and BBQs plus one unshaded table. Around the shelter are vertical percussion poles, drums, area with paths of circular disks, huge lizard and an area for younger kids. This area has a climbing frame with rope nets and climbing wall, a lounge seat on rockers, little see-saw on rockers, stand-up spinning disk, two birds nest swings, two standard swings and play structure with waves slide, curved slide, tunnel, ladders, clock, shop front, climbing wall, steering wheel, steps and fireman's pole.
At the bottom of the playground is a shelter with two tables, BBQs, water tap and basketball half court. There is some limited grassy area and toilets.
