Alice's Playspace, Errington Reserve, Main Road East, St Albans
A lovely playspace which stretches along the side of an oval with a series of concrete paths and areas to provide access to all the equipment. A long rocky (and dry) river winds the entire length of the playground from the "mountain" to the flat area. In the middle is a wooden boat proudly flying its flag with a steering wheel, binoculars and a clanger to either scare the seagulls away or warn other ships in foul and foggy weather. Different styles of bridge ranging from a wide wooden bridge, a solid arched bridge to a moving bridge cross the river. The mountain is a mound with an elevated starting point for a flying fox with disk seat, single wave slide and dual slides.
Other fun elements are a big carousel for a herd of kids, two cute springers, cups to sit in and spin around, a climbing structure with atoms arranged to form a compound with nine orange and four blue atoms - anyone who is acquainted with this compound should drop us an e-mail. There is also a four person springer, a circular in-ground trampoline with four segments for the active kids and a hand pump which pumps water out of huge frog's mouth and then flows down a curved drain. For the more musical types there are tyre drums and a music board to bash and make sweet music.
Shelter with tables, unshaded tables and seats, BBQs and water taps. There are toilets, 50m away, beside the oval.
