Zumsteins - Burrong Falls (Grampians National Park)
Burrong Falls is located in a fairly remote part of the Grampians in dense bush. There is a 300m long walking track leading from the car park with the last section being a difficult scramble.
The 13m high cascade falls are a series of ledges, varying in height from 1 to 5 metres.
The best time to visit is winter or after decent rainfall because the falls may be dry during the warmest months.
Location:
Access to the falls is from Burrong Falls Carpark, Rose Creek Road, Zumsteins. There is a picnic table here but no toilets.
The falls are about a 40 minute drive from Halls Gap or 20 minutes from MacKenzie Falls.
From Halls Gap, go north on the Grampians Road and turn left into Mount Victory Road. Follow this for 15km and turn left into Rose Creek Road. Follow the unsealed road for 8.5km until you reach the Burrong Falls Carpark. This track can be negotiated with a 2WD but if it is very wet a 4WD is preferred.
Access for Dogs:
Dogs are not allowed in the Grampians National Park except within vehicles on sealed roads and in sealed parking areas.
