Zerbes Reserve Playground, Saxonwood Drive, Doncaster East
A nice play space with natural elements and some cute wooden animal sculptures. Look out for the frog, cheeky monkeys, mouse and a ginger cat. The playground is centred around an elevated area with log steps leading up to a platform and a small metal slide to get down. There is also a monkey rung traverse, single rope traverse, rope bridge traverse, flying fox with disk seat, carousel with wooden sculptures, a rocker made from a log, swings and nature play area.
To encourage nature play, bush material is left in the area for cubby building and other nature play activities. It is monitored and replenished as necessary.
There is an unshaded table, huge grassy area to play, water tap (with dog bowl) and a shaded seat under a tree.
Zerbes Reserve is a community recreation reserve with football and cricket clubs plus scout and guide activities. There is a circuit path around the sportsground and areas of open space with significant indigenous vegetation.
Sports clubs and community groups which use the reserve are Beverley Hills Junior Football Club,
Doncaster East Football Club, East Doncaster Cricket Club, East Doncaster Girl Guides, Manningham District Scouts and 3rd Doncaster East Scout Group.
