Warburton Water World Playground, Woods Point Road, Warburton
Warburton's dilapidated pool has been turned into a wonderful recreation area with an exciting playspace, water play park and lawn areas.
A massive 10m high Adventure Treehouse with two slides like twisting snakes provides a bird's eye view over the playground. The large spiralling tube slides enter from heights of 9m and 6m and there is a small junior slide and a meandering maze of platforms which carry adventure seekers on their journey to the top.
The tower also includes a 20m long adventure climbing track which snakes its way to the top with ropes, balancing beams and bridges. Two Goblin climbing trees each with six branches develop will test out climber's skills.
The tower and surrounding area has plenty of climbing and balancing options. Other play equipment includes a birds nest swing, troll's balance beams, a troll's tree and a junior tower in the form of a train engine with slide and crawl space which draws inspiration from the historical logging and train line that once traversed Warburton.
Ring the Emperor Chimes and fill the park with beautiful sounds.
This playground needs to be set to music and the set of six musical Emperor Chimes enables kids to do that.
The water play park includes a drenching bucket, water sprays, showering tree ferns, water blasters and bubbling rocks which which be a highlight during the warmer months. The Warburton area has a history of logging and forestry as well as being an attraction for bushwalkers and cyclists. Try the fallen log slide and try not to get blasted by water on the way down.
The water play part of Warburton Water World is active from 15 September, 2023 until 28 April 2024.
At the back of the playground is an outdoor gym.
There's a shelter with two tables and BBQs, three unshaded tables, water tap and toilets. There is some grassy area for play.
You can spot the remnants of the old swimming pool that once used to be here. Find the old starter blocks for swimmers and a portion of the old pool shell still here in the park.
Some cautions - During hot days in summer parking is difficult. Additional parking can be found at the Redwood Community Centre Oval. Council parking officers will be on-site during busy times to ensure all vehicles are parked in accordance with regulations.
Also be careful on the slip n slide. Kids can slide straight off the soft slippery part, straight onto concrete.
