Willow Grove - Blue Rock Lake

The Blue Rock Lake was completed in 1984 to supply water to the Latrobe Valley for industrial, private irrigation and domestic water requirements. The Lake has a storage capacity of 208,000 ML.
Boasting Mt Baw Baw as a backdrop, Blue Rock lake is a boating destination and ideal for fishing as it's one of Victoria's premier fisheries for Australian Bass. If fishing isn't your thing, then paddle, kayak, swim or just sit on the bank with a picnic and take in the beautiful surrounds. Blue Rock is the perfect place to lay back and relax, or if you're brave take a dip and awaken the senses.
The lake has two designated swimming areas where boating and fishing is not permitted. The best swimming area is near the boat ramp and picnic area west of Willow Grove. The other swimming area east of Willow Grove is not so nice for swimming and parking is further away from the swimming area.
The lake has shallow areas for beginners and extensive deeper areas for more experienced swimmers.
The area has facilities such as picnic tables, water tap, BBQs under cover, car park and toilets. Located just minutes drive from Blue Rock Lake is the charming country town of Willow Grove.
There is also the 3.5km Willow Grove/Blue Rock Lake loop walk which connects the lake to Willow Grove. The track follows the shore of the Lake, before turning up Blue Rock Road to the Willow Grove township. It then follows along the Moe-Willow Grove Road, before heading back down Old Tanjil Road and returning to the lake area.
