Whittlesea Public Gardens Playground, Barry Road, Lalor
Wow, this is a playground for thrill seekers. The main tower has six levels and at the top level is a huge metal spiral slide. Within the tower are ladders which are quite awkward to climb. The main tower is connected at level four by a net bridge to a smaller tower. This tower has an internal ladder sitting on a mound with a wide metal slide and games with animal shapes. The other side of the main tower is connected by a wooden bridge which has a metal slide.
There is also a birds nest swing, expression swing, swing with harness and two standard swings. An extensive climbing frame with rope obstacles, in-ground trampoline for all abilities, dual flying fox (one disk seat, one rubber seat), spinning disk and helicopter springer.
In a row beside the playground are three shelters, each with two tables, two sets of BBQs and water tap.
There's not so much equipment for younger kids apart from a fantastic bike park which covers a large area and has lots of signs and intersections/obstacles for decision-making.
Within the paths are balance circuits with logs and rocks. If you or your bike needs a top-up, head to the charging station which also serves drinks and snacks.
The playground is near a wetlands area so care needs to be taken. The reserve has toilets, outdoor gym south west of the car park, fenced dog park and basketball half court near the car parking area.
