Watson Park Playground, Munro Avenue, Ashburton
Two large wooden structures. One structure is suitable for all ages with a ramp and other routes up to a good slide. The second structure is HIGH with a large wave slide. It requires some climbing skills or nerves of steel to cross a high suspended rope bridge in order to get to the slide. Spinning carousel to stand/sit/lie on, see-saw, four swings, sandpit with a Bob the Builder type scoop to pick up sand, climbing wall and chin-up bars.
Also BBQ, water tap and shaded picnic tables. Play area has some shade from the trees.
The playground has had a minor upgrade with the addition of a double sided climbing wall, watch me grow height measuring panel, curvy surfboard which moves slightly underneath you and a sand conveyor in the sandpit to complement the digger.
