Warrandyte River Reserve Dog Off Leash Area (Warrandyte)

At the east end of the walk along the river bank are toilets with steps down to the river bank near the Warrandyte bridge. There is a gravel path beside the river which varies in width and has some ups and downs. The area is very popular with dog owners and you are sure to come across a large number of dogs. There are a few places where dogs (and kids) can take a dip in the river but please be careful since the river be fast and strong.
Dogs will have a great time and the owners can also put their dog on a leash and explore all that Warrandyte has to offer.
The walk which is about 1.5 km long in one direction ranges from Stiggants Reserve in the west to The Island in the east (covering Melways Map 23 C12 - H12).
Update: The area extending between the wonguim wilam playspace and the bridge is now a dog on-leash area. Also dogs are not permitted within the wonguim wilam playspace area.
