Warrak - Minion Sculptures
Minions, the lovable yellow characters that wear overalls and googles from the Despicable Me movies have taken over the tiny town of Warrak near Ararat.
Starting in December 2022, minion artworks were stealthily installed around the tiny town which only has a population of around 70 people. The beautifully created sculptures are constructed from gas bottles, pipes and scrap metal and are colourfully painted. The sculptures are sometimes created as letterboxes, sometimes as plant holders and sometimes just as a work of art. The character of the minion reflects a characteristic of the person who lives near the minion.
The minion sculptures were installed during the dead of the night and it is not known who in the town is the culprit. But there are at least 24 minion in town and the surrounding areas.
