Warracknabeal - Flora and Fauna Park
Created and maintained by the local Lions Club, this popular park is situated on a picturesque bend of the creek, surrounded by magnificent gums, providing free electric BBQ facilities, picnic tables, a children's adventure playground and a collection of native birds and animals including kangaroos and emus in a large natural compound adjacent to the creek.
Update: 24-02-2017 Unfortunately the kangaroos at the park where killed by dogs. The two kangaroos were the last living at the park.
Review:
One aviary had four peacocks and a hole in the roof where smaller birds could come in and out to consume the food and water. There was a large wooded area where we couldn't find any animals (which was probably used for the kangaroos in the past), fenced area with some goats, a row of cages with a range of birds such as parrots, budgerigars, unusual breeds of chickens, and cockatiels plus a hutch for guinea pigs which are for sale. Think up excuses beforehand if you don't want to be nagged to death by the kids about adding a guinea pig to the family.
There are also facilities from the nearby playground.
