Walks in the Moorabool Shire Region
The Moorabool region is home to a number of State parks and forests which offer a large range of walks and hikes for all fitness levels. There really is something for everyone.

Garden of St Erth at Blackwood:
-Whipstick Loop (5km) Easy (Walk in the Wombat State Forest which loops down around Whipstick Creek with evidence of mining operations in the past)
-Lerderderg Heritage River Walk (8km) Medium (Easy, flat walk which follows the Lerderderg River in a loop)
O'Brien's Crossing, Lerderderg State Park Walks (northern section of park)
-The Tunnel (return) (3km return, easy)
-Cowan Track (return) (14km return, medium)
-Blackwood (22km return, medium)
-Mackenzie's Flat (20km, experienced)
Blackwood to Shaws Lake via Sweet's Lookout (Easy, 3.5km return walk from Blackwood Mineral Springs)
Mackenzie's Flat to Grahams Dam (3km return walk in the southern part of Lerderderg State Park which has a swimming hole at the start of the walk and a number of rock crossings)
Avenue of Honour River Circuit Bacchus Marsh (3km easy walk along the Lerderderg River and Avenue of Honour)
Peppertree Walk Bacchus Marsh (A 3km walk along the Werribee River within the town)
