Located in the heart of Venus Bay, Van Cleef Reserve is a family friendly park with a playground and is also great for wildlife exploration.
With many walking tracks to choose from, interactive art installations and a playground, the reserve offers fun for everyone.
Distance: The walk will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
Terrain: Gravel surface with easy includes, but a few steep gradients.
Toilets: Closest toilets located at the Jetty and Boat Ramp on Fishermans Road, Venus Bay.
Access for Dogs:
Dogs are not permitted at the reserve due to wildlife.
Review:
There are wide grassy paths which wind through the bush with lots of information signs about plants and creatures that live in the area and the local habitat. One nice aspect is that many of the signs about plants have examples of the plants growing next to the sign.
There are various entry / exit points with signage at a number of places throughout. Along April Street there is a playground with table and within the reserve is a Gathering Circle of rocks. In the corner of April Street and Lees Road is a giant sculpture.
Entry is not advised on days of high fire danger.
