At Valley Park Riding School you'll receive outstanding instruction and personal attention, allowing you to learn at a pace you are comfortable with. Our instructors specialise in building confidence in riders and providing steady progress on our friendly and well-trained horses and ponies.

You'll find Valley Park Horse Riding and Equestrian Centre less than 30 minutes from Melbourne's CBD in peaceful Templestowe. Our nearby location in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs allows for after work and school, private or group lessons without driving for hours. We cater for all ages, from beginners to advanced riders. During school holidays we offer more intensive holiday programs and our fabulously fun pony birthday parties are held year round.

Lessons - Adults and Children
If you are eager to learn how to ride, our experienced instructors will help you develop the confidence and skill-set to safely handle a horse. If you are a more advanced rider, we have horses that will help you develop good horsemanship skills to competition standard.

As we cater for all rider types, lessons are tailored to suit your level of riding experience. If you are a complete beginner we will work with you on the basics of riding. However, if your riding is at more of an intermediate level, we can work on Show Jumping, Dressage and even Cross Country. Our Instructors at Valley Park Riding School have experience in most disciplines.

You don't have to have your own horse to have riding lessons. We have horses that are trained specifically for all riders. In addition to riding, you will learn all aspects of caring for a horse, including safety, grooming, tacking up and horse wellbeing.

Throughout your development in lessons our specialist instructors will train you Dressage, Show-Jumping and Cross Country. Mounted games will also be played with children.

Holiday Programs
Looking for something fun during the holidays or simply wanting to improve your riding skills? Why not come and spend a day or a week learning how to care for and ride horses? We offer a supervised environment with experienced senior instructors and staff. Each child is given their own pony to ride and care for on the day with a structured riding lesson in the morning and fun and games after lunch.

Our standard holiday programs cater for all rider levels, from complete beginners to more experienced riders.

Riders are welcome to book and attend on multiple days (with special pricing for those attending on 3 or more days). Our syllabus allows for different activities throughout the week. Whilst the structure of the day will be the same, no two days games and activities will be the same.

Birthday Parties
Looking for a unique way to celebrate your child's birthday? Our pony parties are heaps of fun and are something all your guests will talk about for a long time to come.

We offer each child their own pony where they will groom, tack up and prepare their pony for riding. The children will then have a short lesson on how to ride their pony and we then play a variety of fun games. We'll make sure we organise games and activities that are right for the age and experience of your kids. Our gorgeous ponies are very friendly and used to children of all ages.

What's included?

30 minutes of preparation including helmet and boot fitting, and plait and play time with your ponies
1 hour of riding time on the arena including fun games on horseback
30 minutes exclusive use of our pergola area for party and cake time after your riding session
