Location of All Toy Libraries in Melbourne
A toy library is a place where parents or carers can regularly borrow toys, puzzles and games for recreational and educational purposes. Toy libraries aim to support families and encourage them to spend time playing with their children.
Quality toys are expensive and children can quickly become bored with a toy after an initial period of time. By providing new play materials on a regular basis, parents can save significant money and contribute towards the continuing development and education of their children. Toys can easily be borrowed that are matched to your child's individual need, stage of development and interests.
Other advantages of toy libraries include:
Membership of a toy library represents exceptional value. There is usually a reasonable annual cost and most toy libraries have a requirement to do some designated hours of duty at the toy library (although most offer an increased membership fee if you can't do any duty). There are usually reduced costs for concession holders.
It should be noted that toy libraries are often closed during the school holidays and on public holidays / long weekends.
