The Top 40 Christmas Lights in Melbourne
It's such a joy to visit Christmas lights. People put in so much love in creating their displays and many of them collect donations to a charity which is dear to their hearts. We have travelled far and wide across Melbourne and these are the top displays in Melbourne. Click on the links for more information such as what days and times the displays are on.
North East
11 Rawdon Court, Boronia
A massive and stupendous display with over 75,000 lights, inflatables (lots of licenced inflatable characters including Bluey) and characters totally covering the house, roof, driveway and tiered garden.
At the top of the driveway is a Santa North Pole scene where kids can get a photo taken in Rawdon Court sleigh with a singing and dancing Santa or sit in the Santa chair at "Santa's Place". You can also take your photo with the Rawdon Court Christmas Angel Wings at the front of the display. There is a Rawdon Court mail box and your kids can drop a letter to Santa in it and they will get a personalised reply. At certain times there are visits by Santa, the cheeky Grinch or Paw Patrols Chase. On some nights there is a caroller and an ice-cream van visiting.
Donations go to the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation.
50 Kincumber Drive, Croydon
Lots of lights, lit characters, huge reindeer inflatable, Huge Santa, snow machine on weekends and Santa letter box with reply if leave name and address.
25 Mulgrave Way, Croydon North
Huge display amongst the garden bushes and house. Friendly hosts and a snow machine with smoke bubbles which are so much fun to catch.
30 Jacaranda Drive, Diamond Creek
Over 25,000 lights synchronised to music. Tune into 90.2 FM. Also a lovely nativity scene silhouetted on the garage door. There are more lights around the corner along Kingfisher Drive and Cockatiel Place. See the Lights on Jacaranda Facebook page.
10 Pushkin Court, Doncaster East
Massive display which Andrew has been doing for 17 years. Huge number of Christmas scenes and characters over the house, windows and garden. Donations collected for SES Manningham.
29 Darvall Street, Donvale
The house and front garden is covered in lights and inflatables. Pass through the arch for a kaleidoscope of lights in the garage where you can find Santa's train. See the 29 Darvall St Christmas Lights Facebook Page. Taking a break in 2023 but will be bigger and better in 2024.
Nimary Court & Cherelle Court, Eltham North
A wonderland of lights, window displays, inflatables and lit characters. All the houses in these two courts, which are connected, participate and put a lot of effort into their displays. 88 Parkhill Road, Kew
Meet the Tuppets and hear the music to complement the 65,000 light display by tuning your car radio to FM 107.2. There are also stars, candy canes and "singing faces" on the roof. See the Tuppets Lights Facebook page.
8 Hansford Close, Kilsyth
Huge display which covers the house, roof and garden. There is a mass of beautiful twinkling coloured lights and lit characters. Carols are playing in the background.
35 Fellows Street, Mitcham
Over 40,000 fairy lights, a laser light display, huge inflatable Santa, laser countdown clock, Sleigh and Reindeer, snowman, gingerbread man and continuous Christmas Carols playing on Elf Radio. Donations support The Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal. Best parking is available at the Coles Supermarket on Victoria Street. Many houses in the street have displays and it is a lovely walk.
150 Reichelt Avenue, Montmorency
A spectacular snow house with real snow, reindeers, lights, train set. Donations to the Royal Children's Hospital Cardiac Unit.
18 Zander Avenue, Nunawading
About 12 houses have displays but the most spectacular is #18 where donations are collected for Make-A-Wish.
9 Warwick Close, Wantirna
Music, inflatables, little wooden houses with scenes, window displays, singing polar bear on the porch and lots of interesting dangling lights. This display has been active for 25 years and takes two and a half weeks to setup.
Boyd Close, Mooroolbark
The whole property is covered with lights, inflatables, rooftop decorations and wooden cut-outs. There is a life-size Santa sleigh, 3m inflatable reindeer and snow machine. On some nights there are Christmas carols and a snow machine.
North West
5 Chesney Road, Melton
Amazing display packed with Christmas figures, a nativity scene, inflatables and an expansive miniature town with moving features.
290 Gap Road, Sunbury
Fantastic display which includes lots of lights, snow machine, characters, Santa on his seat, magnificent indoor window displays, snow machine and 'reindeer food' for the kids. The display takes three months to setup. Donations to Challenge which supports kids with cancer. Santa Clause will be there for majority of nights up including Christmas Eve, along with the Sunbury Grinch on Christmas Eve.
Carla Views, Sunbury
Fantastic location with four houses in the street having displays. #9 is amazing with a humungous spread of lights and characters. #8 also has a very large display.
27 Glencairn Drive, Greenvale
The highlight are six windows which are all decorated in different Christmas scenes. Walk up the driveway to view the windows. Also lots of lights and lit characters. See the Greenvale Christmas House Facebook page.

Synced lights to music with a few lit characters and smoke machine. Tune your car radio to 99.9 FM and enjoy the computerised Christmas light show from the comfort of your car.
14 Melrome Court, Kurunjang
Synchronised light and music show with smoke machine and projections. There are over 20,000 LED lights. Some nights characters attend the show which raises funds for Very Special Kids. There is an ice-cream truck nightly (weather depending). See the Christmas in Melrome Crt Lightshow Facebook age.

5 Molesworth Street, Coburg
Amazing three storey home with thousands of lights with characters and nativity scene. Host hands out candy canes.
29 Shaftsbury Street, Coburg
Fantastic display. A Christmas lights wonderland. All kids young and old can walk into the Christmas display with animated bears, giant snowglobe, lasers, bubbles and a train. See Shaftsbury Lights on Facebook. Supports Tour De Cure.
The Boulevard, Ivanhoe
This is the most well known and famous Christmas lights area in Melbourne which has been happening for over half a century. The area attracts thousands of visitors and traffic jams and parking difficulties is par for the course. Added attractions include food carts selling food, coffee and ice-cream and performances from local musicians.

59 Viney Street, Clarinda
See the result of months of preparations with a massive, dazzling light display, rooftop decorations, nativity scene, massive Santa and huge inflatables.
11 Lebanon Crescent, Mulgrave
A massive display with over 100,000 lights. The Polar Express makes its way around the track among the animated and singing Santas, snow machine, lasers, bubbles, reindeers and much more.
Vialls Avenue, Parkdale
This street is the highlight of the area with almost every house having light displays. Even the trees on the nature strips are wrapped in lights.
63 Grange Road, Sandringham

Huge display which has been done for more than two decades featuring music, inflatables, lights, roof decorations and window displays. You can enter the property and walk through a nativity scene.
South West
1 Wilson Crescent, Hoppers Crossing
Awesome. The garden and driveway are absolutely packed full of lights, inflatables, characters. There is a snow machine, movies, music and free candy canes for the kids.

John and Carol's display is in support of the Starlight Children's Foundation and has a large display in the front garden and driveway with lots of lights and inflatables, large window display in two front windows. Christmas music playing and lollies for the kids.
