Learn to swim with us, it's fun! Time for a Swim is dedicated to teaching individuals to swim confidently and safely.
Time for a Swim is a small family-run business that is dedicated to ensuring our services are of high quality. Our priority is to ensure that you and your family get the very best out of your swimming lessons.
Time for a Swim is classified as a boutique swim school, this means that we are dedicated to ensuring your experience is unique and in a small and private environment. Our pool is a learn to swim only pool, therefore there is no one playing or swimming at the same time as lessons. This is to ensure that there are no distractions for our students.
The pool was built in 1974, however it has been constantly renovated to ensure it remains a high quality pool, and maintains it's reputation as a prominent swim school in the area.
Our pool is 15m long and increases in depth gradually from approximately 1m to 1.8m. This allows for students to feel comfortable in the shallow end and gradually gain confidence in the deeper end from a young age. There are also steps in the shallow end to ensure a safe entry.
Our pool is heated to 34 degrees to ensure comfort for all of our students all year round. This also enables our pool area to stay warm for when children exit the pool.
Our swim school is equipped with a female and a male changeroom. Both have 2 toilets and a shower in them, however we do encourage only rinsing in the showers in order to save water and increase efficiency in the changerooms.
Time for a Swim is an Austswim accredited swim school. All of our teachers are Austswim qualified to ensure the highest quality teaching.
Classes
Parent and child classes
Parent and child classes are offered to infants as young as 6 months up to 3 yrs of age. These classes are a bonding opportunity for parents and children to share an exciting and fun experience in the pool together. They will both learn to be safe in the water whilst singing songs and playing games to ensure skills are consolidated in an exhilarating way.
Our classes are grouped by age to ensure your child is taught to their developmental needs to ensure each child gains the most out of their class which is relevant to them.
Within our classes, your child will not only learn to become independent in the water, but they will also learn to be safe and happy. Within an infant class, basic survival skills are taught to ensure each child is confident and happy in the water.
By the time your child is ready to graduate into independent classes, they are well and truly prepared for this stage of swimming. Your child will be confident and happy in the water and ready to move onto gaining the next levels we offer.
Learn to Swim
Learn to swim is for all ages from 3 years to 100 years. We provide personalised lessons for each individual in our swim school to ensure everyone's full potential is reached.
Our learn to swim program is based heavily around water confidence and safety. We ensure that our students are taught stroke technique to the highest of standard. We discover how your child learns best, and cater to that to achieve the very best outcome for them in a pleasant way.
We provide lessons for infants of about 6 months right up until adults and everything in between.
Squad
Once our students have completed all of our learn to swim levels, they are then able to move up to one of our squad classes. Squad entails students swimming intensively for 45minutes aiming to increase their endurance, stroke technique, survival skills and race capacity. Our squad classes are fun yet challenging allowing for a rewarding swim.
Adult classes
Our adult classes are catered to each individual in the class. Regardless what each person needs to work on, the class will be adjusted accordingly to this. Our adult classes are private, therefore there are no other classes running at the same time to allow for maximum comfort.
Walk & Talk
Walk and talk provides an opportunity for ladies to come along for a chat and coffee while getting exercise in the water in any way they wish. Equipment is free to use as well as the space of the whole pool.
