The Top Family Activities and Playgrounds in the Loddon Shire Region
The Loddon Shire region is located about two and a half hours drive north-west of Melbourne and includes the towns of
Boort,
Inglewood,
Mitiamo,
Pyramid Hill and
Wedderburn.
The region's highlights are mainly focussed on outdoor recreation and include
Kooyoora State Park where you can visit the Melville Caves, huge granite boulders thought to have been once used as a hideout for the bushranger 'Captain Melville',
Mount Korong,
Mount Hope Nature Conservation Reserve,
Laanecoorie Reservoir and
Leaghur State Park.

The best
playground in this region is
Kelly Park Playground, Pyramid Hill
The main play structure is under a shade sail and has a wave slide, chain ladder, ladder with square rungs, spiral ladder, fireman's pole, steering wheel, telescope and steps.
Outside the shaded zone is a birds nest swing, cute rocker which includes a horse and car seat, open basket to stand in and spin around, a cube with lots of climbing possibilities with nets, rope ladders, spiders web and chain net.
Combined basketball / netball court with a fairly small grassy area. Shelter with table and BBQ. Toilets and a kangaroo seat.
The only
skate park in the region is
Inglewood Skatepark (Basic prefab stuff on a concrete base. Includes a quarter, ramp, some boxes and a spine)
