That Dance Place offers classes in all forms of dance, singing and drama for children and adults. We are also an official location for Ready Set Dance and Ready Set Ballet for 2-5 year olds. Come and see what all the fuss is about.
Programs
Ready Set Dance has been developed with a wealth of experience and creativity combined to create a program that pre-schoolers of today love. The one hour combo class would be a combo class that includes JAZZ, TAP, HIP HOP, SINGING and MUSIC. The music was entirely original and was designed around the choreography with key instructions for pre-schoolers to respond to. The whole program was also designed with a focus on making it appealing to both girls and boys.
Ready Set Ballet is a 30 minute introduction to ballet used the same magical formula as Ready Set Dance. The class can be taken in addition to Ready Set Dance or as a separate class.
Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD)
We offer the ATOD exams for our Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop classes.
ATOD remain a leader in the dance industry through developing a culture based on continuous improvement in syllabi content and implementation, teaching practice and ongoing professional development. Continue to increase the profile of ATOD within the industry as an organisation that delivers quality syllabi with a high technical standard, ensuring accountability of professional ethics and standards, reputation and technical excellence.

Cecchetti Ballet
The timeless Cecchetti Principles of grace, balance and line form the basis of a sound training syllabus that has been developed to meet the needs of today's modern child - teaching co-ordination, poise, confidence, rhythmical sense and musicality while ensuring that the process is still fun!
The fully qualified, carefully trained and registered teachers of Cecchetti Ballet Australia are committed to providing a stable and secure foundation for each student's training - whether for purely recreational enjoyment or as the beginnings of a career in dance. The Cecchetti teacher training courses prepare them to teach with a safe and secure technical base, sound knowledge of anatomy and basic physical faults, good teaching practices and the historical background of the art of classical ballet. The syllabus has been carefully structured to ensure that the student receives a well-balanced training, with each grade for younger dancers designed to build progressively to the senior levels.

DanceStep
DanceStep is a 4 year student teacher program that guides students to be leaders and role models. It covers assistant teaching skills such as behaviour management, different learning needs and styles, and anatomy to name a few. The program empowers students to take care of others. Assistant teachers are given a Theory workbook for each level that is tailored to the learning needs and age of students. All students start at Level One regardless of whether they have assisted before.
With the inclusion of DanceStep at That Dance Place our young dancers have a framework where they can contribute to the community in a positive way. Our students of the DanceStep program have experienced increased levels of confidence and have learnt patience, empathy, communication skills and how to take initiative in different situations. It is wonderful for us to be able to provide this program for our dancers to flourish not only as young people, but to also watch them grow into competent and confident assistant teachers and student leaders and eventually teachers of the future.
Showgroup
Showgroup at That Dance Place is an invitation class only. These students will dance at competitions, outside community events, on stage performances etc. Students are asked into the class because they have stood out in class or at performances and have a good dance etiquette.
Private Lessons
Our private dance or singing lessons give you the opportunity to have intensive one-on-one coaching with one of our talented teachers. Private dance lessons are specifically tailored to your ability, and allow for your personal development and learning style. We make sure that you're getting the most out of each lesson. Whether you would like to take part in competitions, catch up on class work, VCE catch up or are getting married and want to work on an individual bridal waltz. They are available in any style. Please contact reception for studio and teacher availability.
