Taylors Creek Lakeside Loop Walk (Taylors Lakes)

A 3.4 km loop around the lakes and wetlands of Taylors Lakes. This popular walk is great for families or those exercising or relaxing in nature.

Taylors Lake Linear Park Playground, which is at the centre point of this walk, has excellent facilities including a Ninja course, gym equipment, free tennis court, BBQs, picnic tables, plenty of seating with lake views, toilets and water tap.

This walk takes in wide-open spaces and serene lakeside views. The wetlands attract a variety of birdlife to watch and enjoy on this walk. Look out for pelicans, cormorants, coots, swamp hens, swans and ducks.

The walking path is in excellent condition: sufficiently wide for shared usage with a smooth surface ideal for prams and scooters.

The Aboriginal Marin Balluck people knew Taylors Creek as "water flowing through stony country". Since colonisation, the creek has been significantly modified. Today, a series of stormwater spillways form the chain of lakes.

Taylors Creek flows through Taylors Lakes, Keilor Downs and Keilor before joining the Maribyrnong River in Brimbank Park.

This walk is public transport accessible. Watergardens train station on the Sunbury Line is a 1.5 km walk to the start of this map. Sunshine Avenue is an alternative place to start/finish this walk. Buses 421 and 476 stop at the path.

Watch out for snakes in warm weather and, if crossing on a spillway, be careful of rising water.
