Tassells Cove Beach Dog Off Leash Area (Safety Beach)
The lovely small beach (180m long) is bounded by the rock wall of the canal to the south and a headland with tall cliffs to the north. At the back of the beach are seven colourful beach huts. The sandy beach has very shallow water. This is a beach for dogs and you won't really find people coming here just to swim. There are bins near the carpark. The beach is leash free the whole year. There is no water tap.
Unless you know the layout of the land, it can be tricky to find the way into the car park beside the beach. Just to the north of where the road goes under the canal, Bruce Road joins Marine Drive from the east. If you follow Bruce Road for a short distance, you'll see a road opposite Oban Road also called Marine Drive heading to the south. Take Marine Drive past some houses and it will lead down to the car park for Tassells beach.
Access for Dogs:
Off leash all year all the time.
