Tallarook - Boulton Flora Reserve

Tallarook - Boulton Flora Reserve

Boulton Flora Reserve was created to preserve an example of Native Grassy Woodlands in the Tallarook area. The reserve is a stunning site of native wildflowers within the Mitchell Shire.

Boulton Flora Reserve is a bushland reserve which is perfect for wildflower walks on informal walking trails and bird watching. The reserve presents an example of native grassy woodlands.

The reserve is dominated by red box, and red stringy bark with occasional yellow box and grey box. The understorey layer consists of wattles and woody shrubs and the ground flora with native grasses, orchids and lilies and herbs. The reserve links with the vegetation corridor along the Hume Highway providing habitat for native birds and animals.

There is a high diversity of native wildflowers during spring. However, we found it quite difficult to find tracks running through the reserve.

Parking is available at the cricket club.
