Talbot Park Playground, Talbot Avenue, Oakleigh South
Nicely laid-out park and playground. The playground comprises a series of ramps with a walkway, small wave slide, high twin slides, various ladders, steps, hanging disks, monkey bars, tunnel, tic-tac-toe, abacus and shop front. Two standard swings, one with harness and the other without safety chain. A really fun swing with a suspended rigid circle and a solid rope base which thankfully has a very soft spongy base underneath. Springer and nice wooden structure in the form of a boat.
Lovely landscaping features bridges and (dry) watercourses. BBQs under shelter. Most seats without shade and unshaded tables. Water tap. There are some ponds which could grow and reduce in size depending on the season and amount of recent rain. Open spaces for playing games. A lot of area around the playground area is covered in woodchips - in fact there are more woodchips here than at a Gunns logging operation in Tasmania.
