Review:
Swan Lake is a hidden gem with lots of wildlife to see on a very easy walk.
There's a turn-off to the car park just before you get to the parking area for the penguin parade. As soon as we entered the reserve we saw some swamp wallabies grazing on the grass. At the entrance there is a shelter with information panels and two partly shaded tables.
There is quite a wide gravel path before you get to the board walk, and so you should be able to see any snakes quite easily. After five minutes walk you reach the boardwalk. During the walk, we saw more swamp wallabies. It's not a place for the cowardly lion to walk, because as you walk along the path, you hear a rustling in the bush and then see a wallaby bounding away.
Once you get onto the boardwalk and the bird hides which overlook the lake, we saw lots of Cape Barren geese and plenty of wallabies came down to the water to drink.
