Sustainable Park Playground, Tarlo Court, Craigieburn
Wow - that is a massive eco-hut tower. Entrance to the tower is via a ramp or massive rope bridge. Once inside, go up the spiral steps for great views (you can stick your head up into the plastic domes on the roof) and lots of information panels about flora and fauna.
The remainder of the playground is a joy to explore. There are drums, hanging pipe to hit to make music, mounds with metal slides, tyres to sit on and spin around, an area with tunnels and creatures made from scrap materials, lovely round tables with artwork, shelter with tables, water tap, row of eight swings, rows of balance stumps, lots of information cylinders you spin around to align the information about a topic and grassy areas. The whole playground has a theme of sustainability. Trees cleared from around the area for new housing have been reused in the park to provide seats, wooden play creatures and nesting boxes for local animals.
