Sunshine Eagles Baseball Club (Albion)
The Sunshine Baseball Club was founded in 1938 and is the oldest sporting club in Sunshine. The club has won many division one and grade Premierships over the years. Much of the success can be attributed to the emphasis the club places on the junior development program. During the past 25 years we have had 8 players graduate through our junior teams to gain scholarships to play in the United States. A further 25 players have been selected in State representative teams and have been on interstate carnivals. Of these, 6 young people have been selected in Australian teams and have traveled to either Japan or America. Since inception the club has supported many more players that have similarly represented Victoria and Australia in senior baseball and all junior age groups.
Baseball is a wonderful participant sport, which offers a great opportunity for young people and a chance for parents to be actively involved in supporting their children and their club.
We field 8 junior teams 3 x U12s and 2 x U14s on Friday night and for the more advanced players, 1 x U12s, 1 x U16s and 1 xU18s that play on Sundays. We also have our Aussie T-Ball and Rookie Ball program for 4 to 18 year olds. Our Tee Ball and Rookie Ball program is held on Tuesday nights at the club from 5 to 6.pm
The club is based at Barclay Reserve, Talmage Street, Albion.
