Swimming - Sunnyside beach is relatively safe during low waves, however any surf will intensify the longshore and rip currents, particularly against the bluffs.
Sunnyside beach has a General Beach Hazard Rating of 3/10 (Least hazardous).
Review:
Beside the car park is an unshaded picnic table, BBQ and toilets.
A small beach which has a very rocky shore at the north end where there is a sea-wall. The shoreline along the whole beach is quite rocky but back from the water line there is a shortish sandy stretch which is quite wide. The southern end the reverts to a rocky headland and a gungy drain/drain trickles onto the rocky shore.
The beach also has a few ugly buildings at the north end.
