Strathdale Park Playground, Crook Street, Strathdale
A large, wonderful, fun playground which has areas for different age groups. The area for older kids has a big structure with a spiral slide, steep rope bridge, high fireman's pole, rope net bridge, rope climbing nets, shop front, wave slide, ladder, inclined step bridge, flying fox, monkey bars and a climbing cube with climbing wall, suspended ladder, hanging ropes and the side and top have a rope net. There are also some log stumps with climbing holds, some unusual swings including an expression swing where the parent and child sit opposite each other, beautiful wooden hollow orbs and a lovely cubby with walls made from wooden blocks.
At the bottom end of the playground is a Liberty swing and area with soft base, lovely walls set with colourful tiles, a disc to sit on and spin around, stumps and rocks to step across, a little seating area and a carousel to stand on and spin around.
Beside this is an area for younger kids which has a structure with curved slide, twisted climbing sheet, panel showing how gears work, tic-tac-toe, steering wheel and fireman's pole. There is also a music panel, standard swings, car springer, fish springer and train springer in this area.
A colourfully painted path runs through the playground.
There is a shaded BBQ, unshaded table, water tap, unshaded seats and toilets near the playground area. The big grassy area has plenty of BBQs and unshaded tables. The area is bordered by the McIvor Highway and a creek.
There is a large, beautifully crafted water play area on the side which has a giant gecko, water pump, channels and water play table.
The playground has a design to cater for all levels and abilities and is located next to the Strathdale Community Centre with plenty of parking and an upgrade was completed in 2016.
