Stonnington Symphony (Malvern)
Stonnington Symphony is a not-for-profit, charitable organisation based in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs. It is widely regarded as one of Australia's finest community orchestras, as well as being a flag-ship community arts organisation in the City of Stonnington. Its mission is to produce professional-standard, affordably-priced concerts, attractive to a broad spectrum of the community, in readily accessible venues.
The orchestra currently has players ranging in age from 18 to 83, who volunteer their leisure time to share their extensive skills and musical experience with fellow musicians and audiences alike. Stonnington Symphony actively encourages members of the community to become involved in its various activities as players, friends or volunteers.
We welcome new members, playing and non-playing, at any time, as well as volunteers for various administration and concert-day tasks.
Since its inception in 1983, Stonnington Symphony has been an organisation committed to being of and for our community. The orchestra boasts a membership of over 100 musicians and supporters.
