Springvale Live Steamers Model Railway (Springvale South)
Springvale Live Steamers is a group of model engineering hobbyists that operate a working miniature railway in Springvale South.
Our track Is located behind the oval at Alex Nelson Reserve, Harold Road, Springvale South (Melways 88 K4).
Springvale Live Steamers Has steam, electric and petrol engines, largely owner built and most based on original full-size designs brought from retired people, internet and train magazines.
We can operate four locomotives simultaneously. It is a bit of fun having so many trains whizz around at once. The trip around the track takes around 3 Minutes and is suitable for all ages. (Passengers under 4 y.o need to be accompanied by an adult)
Enclosed footwear must be worn to ride our trains.( No thongs, sandals etc.)
Opening Hours:
Public run days are held at the track on the 3rd Sunday of every month except December & January between 1 and 4pm.
On Total Fire Ban days Electric and Petrol trains will replace the Steam trains.
Cost:
$2 a ride or $10 unlimited rides until 4pm.
Review:
A very relaxed environment and rides are inexpensively priced. The track has a few laps of a reasonably small area and includes a bridge.
