    Spring Hill - Silver Brumby Trails

    Enjoy the stunning views of the Macedon Ranges and the Wombat Forest on horse back. Rides are set at a nice steady pace to suit all experience levels. They even cater for the mature rider who wants to brush up on riding skills. Following Old China Track, relics of the Gold Mining Era are revealed as you weave through beautiful tree lined trails through the Wombat State Forest and back down the boundary track.

    After put your feet up inside the cosy shack by a crackling warm fire, and take in the vista of horses in paddocks near by.

    Ride options are:
    • Explore the Wombat Forest on our guided 2 hour trail. It is perfect for the nervous, inexperienced Rider or for people short on time.
    • Our guided 3 hour trails suitable for all rider capabilities. We ride for 1.5 hours then stop for a break in the Wombat Forest for snacks and refreshments.
    • Romantic Package for two. A guided 2 hour ride followed by private picnic. You will be taken by one of our guides for a beautiful private trail ride. You will ride for 2 hours, and return to one of our cottages, where a picnic has been set for you. The picnic will include cheese/biscuits, strawberries, chocolates and local wine. The guide will then leave you to relax and enjoy yourselves in private.
    2 Hour Ride Description - The ride starts from Thora's Hut situated near the Shepherds Hill Homestead near the Wombat Forest. We saddle up and head off. As everyone finds their balance and becomes acquainted with their mounts for the ride ahead, we make through the back gate revealing the tree lined trail beyond. Following the Old China track, relics of the Gold Mining Era are revealed. We continue through The Wombat Forest on the boundary track which in time, leads us back home. Back at Thora's hut, we dismount, tie the horses and put our feet up. Sit back and enjoy a restful afternoon by the hut. Meet Silver Brumby's Family or just stay inside the cozy shack by a warm crackling fire.

    Rides are available 7 days per Week (including Public Holidays, No Rides on Christmas Day). Booking for all rides is essential. Please phone to discuss and book a time.
