The dog off leash area is massive and runs all the way from Glenferrie Road down to the corner of Toorak Road and the Monash Freeway. Five sports fields including the Malvern Braves Baseball Club field stretch across this area. South of the baseball field is a baseball themed playground.
There are walking paths throughout the reserve and the Gardiners Creek Trail goes through the reserve. Steep banks (and an access road) lead down to a huge concrete culvert (Gardiners Creek) which runs along the north of the reserve. There are a number of carparks for the reserve. On the south side between McAlpine Oval and Righetti Oval there is a water tap with bowl and bin. There is a pavilion with BBQ, bin and water tap between Righetti Oval and Ferrie Oval at the east end.
