Sherbrooke Art Gallery (Belgrave)
Sherbrooke Art Gallery features works by members of Sherbrooke Art Society. There are art classes, workshops, events and exhibitions.
The gallery is nestled in the Sherbrooke Forest, a five minutes walk from Belgrave. The building has been home to Sherbrooke Art Society since 1970 and was once 'The Red Mill', a popular venue for generations of visitors. It is operated by volunteers and is a non-for-profit organization with proceeds going to restore the beloved building. All works for sale are created by members in a wide variety of mediums including paintings, drawings, etchings, ceramics, textiles, woodwork, glass & metal as well as a range of jewellery, giftware and crafts.
The most notable feature at the gallery is the display of diverse works of art. With more than 200 pieces of both traditional and contemporary works on display, there is something for every taste. The art pieces displayed are constantly changing so you can visit time and again to view different pieces each time.
In addition to the works of art on display, Sherbrooke Art Gallery also hosts workshops, classes and exhibitions. Art workshops and classes are regular at the gallery, and this provides art enthusiasts with an opportunity to hone their skills whilst being taught some new techniques.
Look out for the art demonstrations held regularly at the gallery. On select weeks, there are field days which bring the art community together to celebrate the diversity of the region's culture.
