Review:
A lovely place to visit. Have a wander around the gardens, lavender fields and 1850s stone buildings with a stop to have a game of bocce on one of the two bocce courts. There are also plenty of grassy areas (including shaded areas) to rest with geese wandering about.
Then stop off at the La Trattoria cafe for some tasty food produced from local freshly grown ingredients. The cafe has a nice ambience and decor as well as an interesting menu which caters to discerning adults more than fussy kids, although a few types of pizza and toasted sandwiches were on offer. Magazines and papers are available for a relaxed experience. Being at a Lavender Farm means that there are plenty of lavender products to try including scones, ice-cream, lemonade, champagne, biscuits and honey.
The cafe has indoor seating and a lot of outdoor tables under shady trees.
A tip is to time your visit so you can take a free tour of the 1850s stone farmhouse at 12 noon, 2 pm and 4 pm.
Entry and exit is via the gift shop and it is hard to resist one or two purchases.
