A delightful nature based playground, best suited to younger kids, with lots of challenges to test your climbing skills and balance. The whole playground has colourful rich tones on a soft bouncy surface.
Some of the play elements are a slanting log to walk up to reach a rock mound with climbing walls, Roo Olympics where you get to challenge a kangaroo and other animals, wobbly wooden square on bouncy rubber supports, birds nest swing, wooden car with steering wheel, log steppers, elevated platform with slide and rope climbing nets.
The Roo Olympics has two events. At the long jump competition, start with your feet together next to the start line, take a big jump forward and compare yourself against the Echidna, Swamp Wallaby and the Kangaroo. At the high jump competition, stand next to the jumping post and jump as high as you can. Did you jump as high as a Kangaroo? If you are wondering why your jump was pitifully low compared to a kangaroo it's because Kangaroo legs act like big springs. When a Kangaroo lands the tendons in its legs build up energy like a rubber band when you stretch it. When the Kangaroo starts to jump the tendons release their energy pushing the Kangaroo upwards. For Kangaroos, jumping is a very energy efficient way to travel. It is important in Australia where it can be hot and dry as Kangaroos often need to travel long distances to find food and water.
There are two shelters with BBQs and tables with partial shade from trees. There are toilets about 100m away near the car park.
