Sandringham Harbour Dog Off Leash Beach (Sandringham)
The Sandringham Harbour dog off leash area is the sand and rock foreshore areas between Hampton Pier and the wooden groyne opposite the shelter and barbeque south of Small Street, Hampton. This is a 750m long section of sand and shallow water which is great of dogs whether they like running along the beach, having a swim or a wade along the shallows.
There are a number of paths down to the beach. Jetty Road leads to several car parks at the Hampton Pier end which have paid parking (8am - 8pm). There is also a carpark on the north side of Trevor Barker oval. A few tracks lead down from Beach Road. It is possible to find some free parking if you are willing to walk a bit.
It's obvious where the off leash area starts and ends. At the northern end there is a rock groyne where the sandy beach becomes much wider and at the southern end is the Hampton Pier.
There is plenty of sand and the water is shallow without rocks. Near the pier is a toy box with some dog toys and there are bins in the area. The track from the pier leads to toilets, water tap with dog bowl and the Sandy Beach kiosk.
