Rupanyup Art Silos
Russian street artist, Julia Volchkova, has painted striking portraits of two local residents on two large silver grain silos in the town of Rupanyup. The portraits, created using a cherry picker and an array of equipment such as a spray gun, rollers and brushes, were completed over a two week period.
The young locals, Jordan Weidemann, a 16-year old football player, and 25 year old naturopath Ebony Baker, who are members of the local Rupanyup Football and Netball Club, were pictured in their sports gear.
The silo is part of the Yarriambiack Shire Silo Art Trail which will comprise six locations; Brim, Patchewollock, Sheep Hills, Rupanyup, Lascelles and Roseberry. The silos at Lascelles and Roseberry are yet to be painted.
