Ruffey Lake Park Playground, Victoria Street, Doncaster East
Super adventure playground. Includes a super slick curved tunnel slide which our kids absolutely loved. I generated enough static electricity going down it to power Melbourne for the next week. There is also steps and ladders up a look out tower, very long aluminium slide down a hill from a hut that winter downhill skiers shoot out of, various swings, huge sandpit, fireman poles, musical bridge, monkey bars, flying fox and smaller slides. Most of the equipment is under cover.
At the top of the hill is a very interesting climbing frame and two zip lines (flying foxes).
There are plenty of BBQs and tables scattered about. Some BBQs are so close that the smell of cooking food drives you crazy with hunger - so don't come on an empty stomach. Toilets, water tap and space for ball games. Can get very busy on weekends.
A water play area has been added to the playground. There is a water pump at the top and water runs down along channels with beautifully decorated blue pebbles via sluice gates to a sandpit below.
