Ruffey Lake Park Disc Golf (Templestowe)
There is a six hole disc golf course at Ruffey Lake Park which starts near the Church Road BBQ area.
Disc Golf is played like normal golf except a flying disc or frisbee is used instead of a ball.
All tees are marked by 10cm diameter ground-level discs (black number on yellow paint).
If you are looking for a longer game, the Melbourne Disc Golf Club (MDGC) has installed alternate tees for the baskets to make an 18-hole course.
Object of the Game
To have fun and to play the course from Hole 1 to Hole 6 using the fewest number of throws.
Tee Off
Tee throws must be released from behind the tee bollard. A run-up and follow-through are allowed.
Throwing Order
The lowest score on the previous hole throws first. After teeing off, the player whose disc is furthest from the basket throws next.
Fairway Throws
Must be made from the lie (where the disc comes to rest). A run-up and follow-through are allowed.
Putting
Within 10 metres of the basket, a player may not step past the lie when attempting a putt-throw.
Completion of Hole
A hole is completed when the disc lands in the basket or is supported by the chains.
Park Etiquette
Do not throw until all other players and park users are out of range.
Approved Golf Discs (frisbees) are available for loan from Doncaster Library at MC Square, 687 Doncaster Road, Doncaster.
