Rosebud Boat Hire is the best address for self drive boats on the Mornington Peninsula. This little business has been in operation for over 40 years. Our little boat shed is directly on the Rosebud-McCrae beach, set amongst the ti-trees. Lots of shade for those hot summer days. Public facilities including toilets, showers, BBQs, picnic tables and small children's playground are all within 100 metres of our boat shed. Easy parking directly at the boat shed plus shops and cafes are just up the road.
The types of fish we've caught (between our boatshed and the nearby south channel marker) are: Australian salmon, snapper, bream, flathead, silver trevally, King George whiting, squid, gummy shark, garfish and yellow tail king fish.
We now have 11 boats in our fleet as well as canoes plus paddleboards. We're set up for fishing enthusiasts or people who just want to experience some relaxing time on the water - to get away from it all and enjoy the great outdoors.

Hire a boat, catch a fish and BBQ dinner - Enjoy the fresh air and some time outdoors. We hire safe, clean and reliable boats plus fishing rods. Bait and tackle also available from our on-site kiosk. A boat licence is not required. We provide pre-charter briefings plus phone support while you are out on the bay. Kids 10 years and younger need to wear a life jacket at all times. Our fleet - Our self-drive boats are easy to operate. You choose your boat and we show you everything you need to know during a briefing and demonstration. No licence or prior experience necessary. Fuel included in hire cost. Life jackets supplied for all vessels. Our boats are cleaned after every single hire (not just at the end of the day). People hire our boats for fishing, fleet support for local yacht races, sightseeing cruises, casual picnics and special events (like the tall ships regatta).
