Rhythm of Life (Reservoir)
Master drummer Mohamed Camara and local percussionist Anna Camara are now offering African drumming classes for kids! The classes will introduce kids to the colourful African culture through traditional African drumming and percussion instruments, singing, basic movement, and storytelling. Kids love African drumming, and it gives them an opportunity to connect with other kids and develop their coordination and focus in a friendly and fun environment!
Course Content
The course explores the different components of traditional rhythms, including the different percussion instruments, songs, movements and the stories behind the rhythms. Participants will learn the basic techniques of djembe (African hand drum), dun duns (bass drums), shaker and bell. They will also learn a number of arrangements for traditional West African rhythms, including calls, different accompanying patterns, solos, breaks, and a song/chant.

Our Kids Party Package includes one or two drum and dance facilitators who come to you, and we supply all the instruments. Interactive performances include full traditional costumes, djembe and dun dun drumming, balafon (African xylophone) and song.
Hands-on workshops involve drumming and dancing games, singing, and storytelling. Kids love African drumming, and our parties will have them all engaged and participating!
We provide all drums and percussion instruments, and come to you at your preferred location. Perfect for kids' birthday parties, family get-togethers, bar/bat mitzvahs, and entertaining the kids at adults' parties.

Private Tuition: Mohamed and Anna offer private tuition on djembe, dun duns, and balafon (Guinean xylophone). Private lessons take place in Macleod.
