Regatta Beach Playground, North Shore Drive, Point Cook
The playground is set in a great location next to a big wide sandy beach beside the lake. Stretched along the arc of the beach are a series of rope net climbing structures. The main structure of ropes has vertical and sloping rope nets to traverse across, a rope bowl to climb up into via a ladder and a hammock, which I'm assuming was designed for Dad.
Next to the ropes area is a high structure which is reached by a ladder of logs. At the top you can get down with a fireman's pole, metal slide or monkey bars.
In the middle of the playground area are some shade sails over a BBQ, water tap and some tables. There are also some unshaded tables.
On the other side is a small birds nest swing, more horizontal rope nets, standard swings, a cup to sit in and spin around, basketball court, digger in the sand and a water play area. The hand pump wasn't delivering any water when we visited and it had become a sand play area with a channel leading to a big bowl filled with sand.
On the sandy beach there is a volleyball net. Note that the lake is not suitable for swimming. This is a "recreational" lake and not a swimming lake. At the back of the playground is a big grassy area for ball games. We found parking quite difficult and used a two hour parking place.
