Rabbit Hole Play Centre (Braybrook)
The Rabbit Hole Play Centre in Braybrook in western Melbourne was being touted as the biggest play centre in the Southern Hemisphere when it opened. What we can say is that it is huge and beautifully crafted with stunning interiors. Dive down the Rabbit Hole and let your imagination take you away and have your adventures in Wonderland.
There are arts and crafts, climbing, crawling and lots of creative activities. The centre is fully air-conditioned. The objective was to create the ultimate indoor playcentre, one which provides both active play and imagination-based activities in a safe, bright and friendly environment.
There are different worlds throughout the centre. Dive into Sea World or explore Forest World where you can jump across toadstools and swing through the treetops. Blast off into Space World where you can defy gravity. There is a rock climbing wall which has an additional cost. Paddle across to Beach World.
There is a "Carnival" big tent which is used as a stage for activities or just a place where your kids can perform their own imaginative shows. This area is suited to younger kids. There is no designated babies / toddler area within the centre.
There is a ship's hull set in a huge ball pit. Kids come down a slide landing into thousands of clear balls that change colour with the light above. That's cool...
There is a cooking school area where kids can learn how to prepare and cook food which can assist with developing fine motor and sensory skills. In the Cooking School, kids will learn those basic skills and safety tips all whilst preparing delicious meals that they can enjoy afterwards - I can't wait for our kids to make their first pizza for me. Parties in the cooking school can cater for a variety of ages and skill levels.
The cafe serves barista-made coffee and has a wide range of food and drink options including vegetarian, halal and gluten-free alternatives.
The walls are covered with beautiful images designed to take you out of Melbourne and into an entirely different world.
