Quarry Park Mountain Bike Trails (Footscray)
This is a fantastic mountain bike park located near the centre of Melbourne with trails for beginners and intermediates, a skills park and two pump tracks for beginners and intermediate riders.
At the mountain bike trail head there is a seat, bike repair station and water tap. There are three one-way mountain bike trails which lead off from here:
There is also a one-way ascent trail which is rated easy/green to get from the bottom of the three trails back to the trail head. It has gentle grades with some moderately steep sections and easily avoidable obstacles.
At the bottom of the trails is a good mountain bike skills park. It is a single direction loop with three tracks in the flat area focused on skills development with technical features such as balance beams, berms and rock features.
Off to the side are two pump tracks - a beginner pump track and an intermediate pump track. The intermediate track which has an asphalt surface is fantastic with highly sculpted loops, bowl, rollers and berms that users can 'pump' around without pedalling.
The beginners pump track which is less impressive, is constructed from gravel with some berms at the ends and seven small jumps.
