Pridmore Park Dog Off Leash Area (Hawthorn)
A lovely grassy strip, about 500m long, which is dotted with trees and has a dirt track running along the west side beside the Yarra River. You need to be beware of snakes near the river during the warmer months - there are plenty of warning signs displayed (hopefully your dog is a good reader).
Generally the river banks are steep but there are a few places with access to the river.
There is a playground in the park at the end of Mason Street (where there is some limited parking). There is a bin and some water taps (one with a bowl) near the playground. At the southern end there is a neighbourhood soccer field with soccer goal frames.
At the northern end there is a sign which informs you that it is a dog on-lead area to the north. There is a wonderful surprise behind the fence of a private garden at the northern end. A lovely pond with fountain and three fish sculptures with water bubbling out of their mouths which lorikeets seemed to love.
