Polly Woodside (Central Melbourne)
The newly refurbished Polly Woodside provides a new, fresh and exciting interaction experience that is guaranteed to engage the imagination and all of the senses.
After a four year redevelopment of the site Polly Woodside has reopened and we encourage everyone to bring your families to be entertained by our all new hands-on gallery and immersive film that will provide an insight into life on board a tall ship such as our Polly Woodside.
All Hands on Deck! - In the new Gallery you'll need your sea legs to go through the new Polly Woodside's rotating entry and make your way forward to watch the unfolding story of George Andrews aboard the iconic ship.
George made his journey in 1904 as the ship's carpenter and his adventures are now the basis of a 12 minute film projected on a widescreen inside a reconstructed ship's hull.
You can try your hand loading a cargo ship or making a hot rivet. You can learn all about the lives of the sailors who sailed aboard Polly and even try lifting a cargo of coal and wheat.
Join the rest of the crew aboard the ship and learn the ropes as you explore the quarterdeck, fo'csle and aft accommodation.
