Piggoreet - Devils Kitchen Geological Reserve
Devils Kitchen Geological Reserve has spectacular basalt columns formed by the contraction and cooling of lava and dramatic cliff lines.
Look out for the resident peregrine falcons which nests in the cliff opposite the car park.
There is a track which passes through the reserve and crosses the Woady Yaloak River. There is a seasonal waterhole during the early part of summer.
The whole area is thickly vegetated but there is still evidence of former gold mining activity such as mullock heaps, foundations and mine adits.
The reserve is located at the western end of the Linton-Piggoreet Road.
